Sir Edward Grey to Mr. Max Müller.
INSPECTORATE-GENERAL of Customs.
Foreign Office, March 5, 1910.
I concur in the opinion expressed in the first paragraph of your telegram of yesterday's date. We quite see that the best way to avoid friction in the future might be to abolish post of deputy inspector-general. But when do you suggest such abolition to take place? And if immediately, what arrangements would be made with regard to the present holder of the post ?
